Hi, I’m Lisa. I design beginner-friendly hand embroidery, cross stitch and craft kits from my studio in Hertfordshire, UK.

I want to help you enjoy the relaxing pleasure of making something by hand, even if you have never stitched before. My kits are designed to be clear, approachable and enjoyable from the very first stitch.

Made to help you get started

I started Lazy May because I wanted embroidery and craft kits to feel inspiring rather than intimidating. I know it can be difficult to begin a new craft when you are unsure which materials you need or what to do first.

I develop every project in my Hertfordshire studio. I create the design, stitch and test the sample, choose the fabrics and threads, and write the step-by-step instructions myself.

My kits contain the materials you need to get started, together with clear guidance to help you enjoy the process and feel proud of what you make.

A little creative time for you

I love embroidery because it is relaxing, portable and easy to fit around everyday life. You can stitch for ten minutes with a cup of tea, take a project away with you or settle down for a quiet creative afternoon.

Alongside my embroidery kits, I have created free stitch tutorials and beginner guides to help you build your confidence. You can also download my free modern embroidery sampler and learn a collection of useful stitches at your own pace.

You do not need to make everything perfectly. I want you to enjoy slowing down, learning something new and creating something that feels completely your own.
