Make a little time for yourself each day in the run-up to Christmas with this festive embroidery Advent calendar kit.

There are 24 small Christmas designs to stitch, one for each day from 1st December to Christmas Eve. Most take around 10–20 minutes, so it’s an easy way to enjoy a few peaceful, creative minutes during a busy December. As the days go by, your 7" hoop will gradually fill with tiny festive details.

The design is already printed onto the fabric and you’ll have detailed instructions for every little motif, along with my beginner embroidery guide covering all the stitches you’ll need.

Once you’ve stitched the final design on Christmas Eve, finish your hoop with the red velvet ribbon and striped hanging twine, then add your name and date to the tag on the back. You’ll have a handmade Christmas decoration to bring out again year after year.

Everything you need to complete your Christmas embroidery is included in the kit:

2 embroidery needles
Detailed instructions for all 24 designs

You’ll just need a pair of scissors.

24 Days of Christmas Stitching

Starting on 1st December, stitch one numbered design each day until Christmas Eve.

Each little embroidery has been designed as a manageable mini project, with most taking around 10–20 minutes to complete. There’s no need to finish the whole hoop in one sitting. Just add one small piece each day and watch your Christmas embroidery gradually come together.

STITCH ALONG WITH ME THIS DECEMBER!

I'll be sharing little videos, close-ups and stitching tips throughout December, so you can follow along as you make your own Advent Calendar. I'll be revisiting all 24 designs, sharing a few helpful hints and hopefully getting to see some of your lovely stitching too!

It's going to be fun making these together!

And if December gets busy? Don’t worry. You can catch up with a couple of designs at once, start a little earlier, or simply work through all 24 at your own pace.

BEGINNER FRIENDLY

You don’t need lots of embroidery experience to make this kit.

The complete design is already printed onto the fabric, so there is no pattern to trace or transfer before you start. The detailed instructions tell you which colours, stitches and number of strands to use for each of the 24 designs.

You’ll also receive my beginner embroidery guide, which explains how to set up your hoop, separate your embroidery thread and work all the stitches used in the project.

If you’re completely new to embroidery, you can take each little design one step at a time. If you already stitch, you can simply pick up your hoop each day and get started.

A CHRISTMAS DECORATION TO KEEP

By Christmas Eve your 7" hoop will be filled with 24 little festive embroideries.

Tie the red velvet ribbon into a bow at the top and add the red and white striped twine to hang your finished embroidery, or simply prop it on a shelf with your Christmas decorations.

There’s also a little tag included for your name and the year you made it.

Pack it away with your Christmas decorations in January and bring it out again next year.

DESIGNED AND PACKED IN HERTFORDSHIRE

I designed all 24 little Christmas patterns and their instructions here at Lazy May Sewing Club.

I wanted this project to feel achievable during December, rather than becoming one more thing to keep up with. Most of the designs take around 10–20 minutes, so you can make a cup of tea, pick up your hoop and enjoy a little stitching at the end of the day.

Each kit is packed by me in my Hertfordshire studio and includes everything you need to get started.

There are 24 numbered Christmas designs printed onto one piece of fabric. Stitch design number one on 1st December, then add another little embroidery each day until you reach number 24 on Christmas Eve.

How long does each day's embroidery take? +

Most of the little designs take around 10–20 minutes to stitch, although some may take a little more or less depending on the design and your stitching speed.

Is the embroidery pattern printed onto the fabric? +

Yes. The complete Advent calendar design is already printed onto the fabric, so there’s no pattern to trace or transfer before you start.

What size is the finished embroidery? +

The finished Christmas embroidery is displayed in the included 7" embroidery hoop. This is my largest embroidery kit size, with plenty of room for all 24 little festive designs.

Do I have to start on 1st December? +

Not at all. You can start a little earlier, catch up with a couple of designs at once, or simply stitch all 24 at your own pace. The numbered designs are there to make a fun Christmas countdown, not another December deadline!

How do I display the embroidery when I've finished? +
